Below are tentative actions we are working on completing. We’ll be sure to update this page as our steps change.

Complete final steps toward scholarship and award presentation ceremony in South Sudan.

SYW representatives, Dr. Thaller and Bridget travel to South Sudan. Scholarships and award will be presented and reps. will engage in networking, for further endeavors.

Fundraising for next year goes public on social media platforms.

Our Journey So Far

  • Launched crowdfunding initiative on GoFundMe for school supplies for young women in South Sudan

  • Encountered technical and logistical difficulties with the platform and decided to restart on PayPal

  • Refined mission to help young women leaders and created a one-pager to distribute to Governor of Bahr el Ghazal outlining this new mission

  • Communicated with Governor Sarah Cleto’s office to gain contact with school officials whom we can reach out to about helping to fund education for select young women students

  • Worked with Ms. Makai, Head Teacher Delegate to gather “Take Flight” scholarship applicants

  • Selected our scholarship winners and award recipient!
